Parent Coaching

Did you know that you are your child’s biggest influence? They absorb so much information from your actions and energy. Every moment is a learning opportunity for a child. This journey in parenthood can seem chaotic, but know that you’re not alone in this. Let’s work together to create the family life you want.

Parenting isn’t one size fits all.

Every parent's journey in raising children is one-of-a-kind, and your children's experiences will be just as unique. When you work with BeLove Parenting, Penny will guide you every step of the way. She’s here to provide research-proven guidance, tools, resources, and support that you need.

Do you ask yourself these questions?

Is parenting supposed to be this hard?

What can I do to ease the tantrums, yelling, chaos, negotiating, or frustration?

How can I enforce boundaries without causing harm?

Why isn’t the parenting advice I see on social media working for my child?

Unable to find the answers? I’m here to help!

Learn more about parent coaching.

  • Parent Coaches work to understand your individual strengths and help you grow together as a family from a place of empowerment and encouragement.

Some people seek Parent Coaching for a specific struggle, such as toddler challenges, teen attitudes, or difficulty getting their kids to listen. Other people want to feel more joy, connection, and resilience in relationship with their children.

We work together to create individualized solutions to struggles and challenges that will work for your kids and in your family. We will explore child development and the latest science to strengthen your abilities and confidence within your own family.

These coaching sessions are designed for caregivers from birth through young adulthood.

  • Parent Coaching is a relationship focused on helping you become the parent you want to be for your children. My role is to provide education, support, and encouragement as you begin to implement new strategies and techniques in your home. You are the expert on your child. We will work as a team to find the solutions that work for you and your family.

Therapy is focused on mental health issues such as anxiety or depression. Therapy is often focused on dealing with issues and traumas from your past and how these impact your current mental health.

As a parent coach, I do not provide therapy. If during our conversations I feel that you, your spouse or child would benefit from therapy, I will encourage you to seek therapy from a qualified mental health provider in your area. If you are currently working with a therapist, I am happy to support that relationship and will coordinate care as requested.

  • Parent Coaching is open to anyone who is caring for a child or children - parents, foster parents, grandparents, married, co-parenting or single parents. You may attend alone, or you may attend with another adult who cares for your children.

I work with parents who are expecting a baby all the way to parents of young adults and everything in-between.

  • A 20 minute consultation is useful, so I can have a can collect brief background information, current challenges, and hopes and goals for parent coaching.

Sessions last 60 minutes and are individualized to your current concerns and goals. Sessions can be in-person if located in the Toledo, Ohio area or online.

I strongly recommend a minimum of 6 session as it can take time to create individualized action steps, build new parenting habits, and resolve any issues or questions that arise along the way. However, I am open to fewer sessions, knowing that sometimes small adjustments can have big impacts.

Free email support is provided between meetings. You are encouraged to email with success stories, questions, concerns or clarification at any time between meetings.

  • If you live near Toledo, Ohio, you have the option of meeting in person or through Zoom. Otherwise, we would meet via Zoom.
